History

Meritland School’s history dates back to September 1999 when it started off as a Montessori school offering nursery and primary school education to children aged 2-12 years.

Founded In 1999
Since then, the school has grown remarkably and is today a leading institution offering a first-class education from the foundation stage to post-secondary levels. We believe that offering a progressive education gives both parents & pupils’ stability and continuity, removing the inconvenience of having to change schools periodically.

From our first campus, situated in pota area of Badagry local government area of Lagos , which started with only 6 pupils, Meritland School has grown tremendously in size and has also now established in three campus in Badagry and its environ, with a combined student population of over 1000 pupils.

Meritland school has been entirely self-supporting since inception. The founder Late MR. Idowu Akintola Bolaji is the proprietor and chairman board of Governors, not only guides the overall direction and strategic running of the school; he also oversees the work of the Director of Education and the School Director.
We look at our history with pride and affection but we also look forward with eager anticipation to the challenge of meeting the current educational needs of children growing up in the global village of the 21st century.

Meritland School is an independent, non-partisan, day and boarding school for boys and girls from 18months to 18years. We encourage students to be lifelong learners by instilling in them great confidence, respect and a consciousness of the needs of society.

Meritland School Igborosun which is now the main campus began in 2001. Today, we have established ever flourishing meritland college and meritland vocational school all in one campus. The Meritland Community places great value on character and moral education as well on academics achievements. Our unique education ensures that boys and girls learn in the words of our school song "Knowledge breeds success".

We are goal-oriented and strive for continuous improvement in teaching and learning. There is a conducive and productive learning environment that suits a range of abilities and learning styles. We value not only academic success, but we also encourage talents of all kinds whether in the arts, drama, music or sports. Our view is that a kind, respectful and helpful pupil, who has a positive attitude to school life and fellow pupils, is every bit as worthwhile as the brilliant scholar, artist or athlete.

About ATANME Campus
Meirtland School opened its Atanme Campus in 2016, this was specifically built as a fit-for-school purpose to meet the needs of communities living far from the main campus . The campus has good number of pupils from pre-school age through to age 16(2 yrs to 16 yrs).
Meritland School Atanme campus is located along the Badagry pota ado odo road , close to the popular front line farms Oba Kobe Ogun state Nigeria, , well equipped  science laboratories, specially designed rooms for art, music and life science; to ensure a well-rounded education for the students.
